Marie Forleo – keeps it real

I recently discovered Marie Forleo from a Facebook link that someone posted and she is definitely quirky (which is always fun), but most of all I appreciate that she is a “keep it real” kind of lady. I thought her video post yesterday was great.  It was a discussion about the road to living your life with passion and reaching your goals. I’m still on that road, so I loved this video.  I hope you’ve reached your destination already of accomplishing your goals, but if not, I think you will find some great info. in this video too.  Enjoy.

The Power of Intention

I was sitting at home last night and hit my DVR list.  I skipped through all the cooking and Downton Abby episodes and found myself scrolling to my “Super Soul Sunday” episodes that I hadn’t watched yet. I obviously needed a little spiritual pick me up.   Well, the episode I was drawn to was an older interview with Oprah and Gary Zukav, the author of The Seat of the Soul.  This segment is such a good reminder of how intention effects EVERYTHING you do.  That is, if you have the intention of living a life lead by your soul all the energy around you will support that as long as you continue to conciously intend that.  I hope this video serves as a reminder to you too of the power behind your own intentions.  Happy watching.

Mark Twain’s abode

I have walked down 10th St. between 5th and 6th Ave. in the West Village at least twice a week for the last two years en route to Elizabeth Bauer Design.  As much as I think I pay attention to things, apparenlty I don’t.   On my walk yesterday (on my last day at the shop), I looked up to find a plaque I never noticed on one of the row house fronts that says, “In this house once lived, Mark Twain”  Damn, I love New York.  It doesnt matter how long you have lived here,  there is always something new to discover.  Always.

Mayabags and more at the Indagare Souk

Picture from Manhattan Luxury Magazine

Everything is a whirlwind these days and two weeks ago during that whirlwind I was representing Mayabags at the Indagare Souk which took place at the Hotel Athenee here in NY.  I posted about Mayabags around Christmas time last year because I love, love them.  They are handwoven products created by the impoverished Maya women in Belize and in a nutshell the jobs created by these bags lifts them out of poverty (providing them with income to educate their children).   Manhattan Luxury Magazine was at the Souk taking pictures for their mag. (pic above).  I met some wonderful people, one being Anne Wells who founded and runs, Unite the World With Africa. She is a fabulous lady, doing exceptional things and you should take a look at their site as well. Whether you find something you would like to buy at MayaBags or Unite the World With Africa you will be spreading positive energy from all the good that comes from the sales of these items.  Now, that really is happy shopping:)
